Check-In Time!

Hola!

I haven’t written in a while. Things have been crazy at home and at work, but I have LOTS to share!

First, my weigh-in:

Weight: 247.4 (Old: 248.0. I was down to 237 for my Diet Bet..but that was without breakfast or liquids 12 hours before.)
Hips: 55.5 (55)
Waist: 38 (39.5)
Thigh: 13.5 
Arms: 27.5

I decided to add my arms and thigh measurements in and remove my bust. I couldn’t care if I lost at the bust. I happen to like it where it is. 

I had lost quite a bit for the Diet Bet but I have been a bad bad girl since then. I have been eating out for lunch and dinner and haven’t been running. Of course I also wasn’t blogging because then I would have to own up to the fact I was being bad. Now I’m back on track. Last Friday I ran my 4th 5K! It was a glow run put on by a small town here in Iowa. I hadn’t planned on it, but a few days before it my aunt asked me if I wanted to do it, so I thought why not?

It was pretty clear by my time that I hadn’t been running (during a race I'm usually at around 16.30/17.00 per mile, but this time it was 18.00...it's slow I know but I have super short legs and I'm fat). I didn’t walk though, so I still call it a success. I also spent the entire next day at an amusement park, and I didn’t feel too sore afterwards. 

That’s also a victory!

This coming Saturday I’m doing the “official” Glow Run 5K in South Dakota. I am running today at lunch and Wednesday to make sure I’m ready to go. I do prefer the larger 5K’s because 1) I usually push myself harder since I have runners next to me, and 2) If I’m slow, no one notices.


I have decided that I too often reward myself with food. I’ll think, you did well at work, you should get a snickers. Or, you didn’t fall asleep watching tv, you should get some ice cream. (Yes…not sleeping during family time is often a victory for me).

Now I’m going to focus on different more productive rewards. I got some new running shorts on Friday. Mostly because I have no idea where my other pair went and I was on my way to a race. I really appreciate that Scheel’s carries the Nike Extended Sizes. It’s hard to find a store that has them, and you just have no idea of the sizing unless you’re there to try them on. They had some DryFit long sleeve shirts I really liked, but I couldn’t justify the cost especially when it’s still 90 degrees outside. I’ll have to use that as my next reward. I also like their zip down jackets.

Pre-5k and Post-5k Pictures

Hello!

I haven't lost weight on the scale, but I feel more confident and I think I am seeing results of my exercise.

Since I decided to buy that blue dress, I decided I better make an effort to tone things up. I am lifting weights a few times a week on top of my running. I am also going to watch what I eat. I have a reunion at the end of the month, and I want to look good in the dress!

I also decided to join ItSuxToBeFat's DietBet. I have to lose 4% of my weight by the end of the month. (for those that are counting, I believe that is 9.9 pounds). The pot is already up to 1,125!

So here was the "before"






These are my afters: my weigh-in picture for diet bet, two dresses I tried on (the blue dress I bought). I did have some Spanks on...those things are like a new form of torture but I sure like how they look under things!

Weigh-In: Post 5K

My weigh-in today after my first 5K.

Weight: 247.4, Today's: 248.0
Waist: 38 (?), Today's: 39.5
Hips: 56, Today's: 55
Bust: Today's 45

So my waist is up a bit, but I don't think I did a great job measuring last time since I was sitting down. I think my hips are down. I wish that I had been doing calf measurements. I feel like that would be one place that would change with all my running.

Weekly Weigh-In

I wasn't all that excited to weigh in today. I only ran once last week (I spent the rest of the time doing housework for my daughter's birthday party this weekend. And it was my husband's last finals week ever, so I was on kiddo duty as well).

Weight: 247.4
Waist: 38 (?)
Hips: 56

No bust because I took my measurements while pumping..and I may have forgotten my waist measurement in the 10 minutes it took me to log into my e-mail. Can I blame being a sleep deprived mom? My 5 month old would not sleep last night. I ended up with 4 hours of sleep and let me tell you when you get up in the middle of that 4 hours to nurse, it is more definitely not enough. Bleh.

Weigh In: Argh!

Hello there!

I was scared to weigh myself today. I have eaten terrible the past week. I just have been SO hungry. I think it's because I am nursing more. Now that doesn't mean I have an excuse for eating so terrible. I should have eaten better when I was so hungry.

Weight: 248.4 (up from last week)


I didn't measure myself yet but the gain wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I have Decided so long as I am nursing that I can't be focused on numbers. I did have someone...okay...my mom is the someone. She said my face was looking thinner.

So after a hard stressful week, I am going to rededicate myself.

Week 5 of Couch to 5k! Everything is going great.

Weekly Weigh-In

Hello There!

I have had a very frustrating couple of weeks. I have been watching my food intake very well (although I do have to admit, I went to parade and then out to eat on Saturday and it wasn't pretty). I have been doing my C25K running without fail. So I was hoping I would see some movement on the scale.

NOPE.

ARGH!

I haven't lost any weight! How is this possible? I don't know how I couldn't physcially lose weight when I'm under my reccommended calories and carbs every day plus breastfeeding plus running.

I do wonder what effect breastfeeding is having on my weight loss. I have heard some people state that it just kept them at one weight, that they couldn't lose anymore once they hit a certain point. (Before having my son, I was hovering around 290, so I have lost quite a bit, but I am still trying to lose!)

This week I might try adding in some weight training in to see if that helps. I also think I'm taking in way too much sodium, so I think I might be retaining some water. Anyone ever try the Jillian Micheals tea type cleanse? I heard it's pretty good.

So here are the stats:

Weight: 247.2 (Down from 247.8 last week)
Bust: 44.5
Waist: 39.5
Thighs: 56

Goals this week:
1) Avoid eating out disasters! I'm going to eat lunch with my brother today, and I need to remember this goal!
2) No more sweets! I had been doing so good lately, and then bam! I look down to realize I had eaten two candy bars! Boo.

Weigh-In

Well, I was pretty excited to weigh myself this morning until I saw the number. I lost less than a pound last week. I was hoping for more since I had been watching my food intake so well (I only went over once!) and I had been running. Since I felt kinda defeated, I decided to also take my measurements. I improved in that department much more, so that's pretty exciting. I'll take the win where I can get it!

Weight: 247.8 (Down from 248.2)

Bust: 44.5 (up from 44...blame the awesome bra I'm wearing!)
Waist:  39.5 (down from 41.5)
Hips:  56.5 (down from 57)

Monday Weigh-In & Goals.

So, I decided to finally weight myself. I'm going to try to do it at a consistant time and at a consistant place. Last time I weighted myself, I was at home and it was a random time at night. Today, is more reflective of what I want to do. There's a scale here at work. So I want to use that scale and weigh myself every Monday morning.

On a side note, I started using MyFitnessPal and have pretty much stuck within my diet over the past three/four days! I love the fact I can scan a barcode with my iPad and it pulls up the information. It makes it so much easier to record my food intake!

Today my weight was 248.2. My weight last week (on a different scale, after a meal) was also in the 248 range. So not much change, but I did just start watching my food.

I have to say my goal to watch my portions went really well! I actually went out to eat with my family and made two smart decisions. 1) I got a side salad instead of fries and 2) I only ate half my burger. I saved the rest for the next day at lunch. That's huge for me. My husband also went to Dairy Queen, and I didn't get any ice cream. I instead got the Light Smoothie Mango/Pineapple. I do have to say I felt as satisifed as I would have with ice cream.

I also went grocery shopping and came home with only healthy options. That will make my snacking urges SO much easier to handle. My hubby was a bit peeved I didn't have anything sweet...he's an ice cream addict! I got some whipped yogurt and put them in the freezer as a ice cream substitute. (I heard that it's pretty good.)

Week two of C25K starts today. I'm not so excited about being sore, but I can't wait to see some progress on the scale!

Weigh-In Wednesday

I will probably move to weighing myself once a week on a Monday or Sunday, but I did it this week on Wednesday. I'll try to measure myself once a month.

Weight: 248 (Down from 291 in December at my last pre-birth weigh-in. Down from pre-pregnancy weight of 265-ish)

Bust: 44
Waist: 41.5
Hips: 57 (eek!)

I have terrible terrible hip genes (as well as jeans...bata BOOM. I'll be here all week people.)

My goals this week are going moderately well. If I'm by myself, I'm doing just fine. No vending machine trips or extras at the store. However, I have slipped twice because my husband offered to get me something (both times promising to be healthy "starting tomorrow") and another time when I took a sweet at work and didn't even realize it until after I paid. I did try to eat a salad today, but there was so much dressing, it couldn't have been *that* healthy.
